Highlights include a sobering statistic that tobacco-related deaths total some 3.5 million in the U.S. each year. A lot, by anyone’s standards, however obesity-related deaths clock in at more than 35 million each year. The article outlines one study that showed middle aged women who sat for more than 6 hours per day showed a 34% increase in mortality than those who sat for less than 3 hours, and a 17% increase in men.
